Using San-Kalpa coir pots or coconut fiber pots is quite straightforward. Here are step-by-step instructions:
- Select the Right Size: Choose coir pots that are appropriate for the size of the plant you intend to grow. They come in various sizes and configurations (Table top, Grill fixture, and with hanging baskets/pots).
- Prepare the Potting Mix: Use one part Soil, one part Sand, one part Coco pith and one part Manure.
- Planting: Plant your seeds or seedlings in the coir pot according to the recommended planting depth and spacing for the specific plant species. If transplanting seedlings, gently remove them from their original containers and place them into the coir pots. Make sure the soil level of the plant in the coir pot matches the soil level of the original container.
- Watering: After planting, you should just sprinkle/spray the water until the potting mixture becomes moist. Please make sure to not pour water directly to the pot but instead sprinkle/spray water.
- Placement: Place the coir pot in a location that receives the appropriate amount of sunlight for the plant species you are growing. Some plants prefer full sun, while others thrive in partial shade. Ensure adequate airflow around the pot to prevent mold or mildew growth. Also, please make sure that its not placed under direct rainfall.
- Maintenance: Monitor the moisture level of the soil regularly and water as needed. Fertilize the plants according to their specific needs, as coir pots do not provide nutrients on their own. Trim any dead or yellowing leaves and prune the plants as necessary to promote healthy growth.
- Transplanting: When it’s time to transplant the plants into the ground or a larger container, simply plant the coir pot directly into the soil. The coir pot will naturally decompose over time, allowing the plant’s roots to grow freely into the surrounding soil.
- Disposal: If you prefer to remove the coir pot before planting, you can do so by gently tearing or cutting away the pot. The coir material is biodegradable and will break down naturally over time, enriching the soil with organic matter.
By following these instructions, you can effectively use our San-Kalpa coir pots to grow healthy and thriving plants while promoting sustainability in your gardening practices.
